A little About Me..
My name is Leanne Power and I am the physiotherapist and owner of Empowerment Physiotherapy. I am passionate about helping people with their injuries and concerns, and a firm believer in educating my clients so that they become empowered to handle their injury more efficiently. I also believe in making physio a more affordable service for everyone.
I have been a qualified physiotherapist since 2013. Prior to this, I completed my BSc in Health Science and Physiology at Sligo Institute of Technology in 2010, before furthering my studies at Coventry University in the UK, where I obtained my BSc with Honours in Physiotherapy.
I started my first physio post at Hereford County Hospital, UK, where I spent two years gaining experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) physio, neurological rehabilitation, acute medical and community sectors. After gaining a keen interest in musculoskeletal physio, I travelled to New Zealand to further my career. There, I gained exceptional experience in private practice and hospitals. I progressed my way from lead physio in elderly care and junior MSK physio to a senior MSK physio, Pilates instructor and Strength and Conditioning Coach within four years. I have profound knowledge and experience with chronic pain clients, acute and chronic injuries, orthopedic clients and young athletes. I am also passionate about running injuries, and have completed a comprehensive course in Running Repairs by Tom Goom, the brains behind ‘RunningPhysio’.
Outside of work, I am a very keen runner, hiker and weightlifter - I enjoy staying active wherever possible and spending time with friends and family, all of which contribute to my passion to help others achieve their desired goals.
